Skin ANALYSIS: Using science to treat your skin

Beauty From the Inside, Out: Using Technology to Improve Your Skin

At Queen City Beauty Group, we often say that your whole-health wellness supports the health of your skin. From what you eat, to stress, to daily environmental factors like the level of pollution in the air and your quality of sleep. Now, for our members, Queen City Beauty Group is proud to offer the Skin Analysis diagnostic system. This simple, quick and complementary tool will allow your esthetician to see beyond your skin surface. It’s almost like looking at your skin years into the future: seeing what will come to the surface later. By knowing what trouble spots to focus on, you can begin the proper treatment and skin regime to keep these issues at bay.

The Skin Analysis system not only provides a targeted approach to your skincare, but it will also act as a measuring tool to ensure that your skin is truly getting healthier - from the inside, out. Your skin can’t hide from the “beneath the surface” look that the Skin Analysis will provide. Just like working with a personal trainer, when you leave the gym and fail to do your own work at home, you will fail to see results. The same is true with your skin routine. We at Queen City Beauty Group will give you all the tools and personal attention needed to improve the health of your skin, and within three months of in-person and at-home treatment, we will take a look at your skin for a second time under the Skin Analysis . We’ll compare your “before” photos to the new photos taken, and see just how well you are progressing, or whether we need to make adjustments to your routine.

This state-of-the-art system is not available at all skin and wellness facilities, which is why we are so excited to make it available to our customers. Since it is so new, however, we’d like to share some tips on what to expect and how the process will work.

1. How long does the process take?

Less than five minutes! When you come in for your treatment, your esthetician will clean your face and remove any SPF, makeup or moisturizer. She will then apply a light lipgloss so that your lips don’t show up as “dry” during the scan. After that, you’ll place your head and face in a dark, soft “globe” where a curtain is pulled lightly beneath your neck to stop any light from getting in. You’ll see mirrors in front of you as well as the face of your esthetician! After she takes two photos, you’re all done.

2. Is the process painful?

Not at all. Your esthetician will ask you to close your eyes and take a photo of you with the “daylight” light, and then again with the “LED” light. The light may be bright since it is meant to show your esthetician all areas of your skin, but since your eyes are closed, it’s not bothersome at all.

3. What is my esthetician looking for with these images?

The Skin Analysis will allow your esthetician to see sun damage, clogged pores, irritation, dryness, oiliness, hyperpigmentation and other skin conditions that are easily treatable with proper care.

4. What is the difference between the “daylight” image and the “LED-UV” image?

The first image your esthetician will take is to see your skin bright and clear with full “daylight” illuminating your face. This will allow her to see oiliness, dryness, wrinkles, pigmentation and much more. This is your “on-the-surface” diagnostic. Then, she’ll take an image with the LED-UV light. This will provide a blue image that will show you and your esthetician what is happening just below the surface. From dark blue spots which are thin, dehydrated skin to white spots that show dead skin cells, you are truly examining your skin from the inside and what will likely come to the surface in the coming weeks, months and years.

5. What if my esthetician finds a lot of issues? Are these results permanent?

That’s the benefit of using the Skin Analysis system - you are seeing these issues before they become long-term, chronic problems. Knowing what is hiding out under your skin gives your esthetician the information needed to customize your skin care health and provide you with important tools for a successful at-home skin care routine.

6. Who should consider having their skin looked at under the Skin Analysis machine?

Anyone! Both men and women benefit from seeing what potential issues may pop up for them later on, and the sooner you know what to fight against, the better. Both men and women begin to see issues with sun damage, stress, and wrinkles, especially as they get into their 30’s and 40’s. As we mature and age, so should our skincare routines. Therefore, Queen City Beauty Group uses the benefits of this diagnostic tool to customize and adjust your skin care system as time goes on.
